i left my window open all day and now find that my bed is covered in tiny orange seeds from trees which have floated in through the window.
the sky was blue today. blue all over, without one single cloud. days like this are rare it seems, even in summer. on the weather forcast there were big yellow suns covering our part of the country... again, it's been a long time since i've seen that. i thought by 4pm it would be cool enough to go for a walk, but i still overheated. perhaps it's because i insist on wearing trousers in all weathers... so i sat under a tree and thought long and hard about nothing. i tried to focus my thoughts, but it didn't work. there is something about being out under the sky and walking which does ease the mind, i may not properly think anything through, but it does stop my thoughts from mugging me.
on the way back i found a very very tiny caterpillar which was bright red climbing very determinedly up my shirt.

G'day Scarlet,
Here is my second comment to you...
I have enjoyed reading your blog, most of it. That is, I enjoyed all of what I read of your blog, but I didn't read all of it, but I did read quite a lot. I think you get my drift.
You said in one of your posts that, compared to others, you don't think your blog is interesting, any good, or something like that. Well, I have really appreciated what you have written because you write so well indeed. You most definitely in MHO have a gift in writing. Your blog is truly quite engaging and interesting. While others might look 'good' or whatever, they can be lacking so much in substance. But your's doesn't because you write from your heart. It is easy to see that. So, keep going at it, it's great. I will keep reading it, if you would like me to.
I have observed that I also 'see' things like you do and I think that is why your blog is so appealing. For example, my entry in my hand-written journal for Monday 23 August 2004...
"A pleasant weekend expired with this morning's sunrise, now a beautiful mild spring-ish day that would be hard to beat. Not a cloud in the sky, not a one, not even in the way, way distant sky to the north over past the Barrington Ranges."
I should explain that we live on a hillside about 130 metres above the floor of the lovely Paterson River Valley with its farms and small hills. From our balcony We can see way up to the end of the Paterson-Allyn Valley, about 50kms distant and also to the Barrington Tops Mountain Range, 60km away. It is wonderful, so tranquil and peaceful.
On another day (31 July) I wrote...
"This is a very foggy morning. Now, at 9:25am, our home is completely enveloped by thick fog, high and low, near and far. It could be that the whole world has disappeared and we wouldn't know. This is a strange isolation, physically, but there is more to life and existance than what can be seen and touched."
So, dear fellow-blogger, Captain Scarlet, I hope we can keep intouch and share the wonderful experiences of our lives.
Oh yeah, It is great to see you bought yourself a Bible. That is wonderful and, I would suggest, the most important purchase you could ever make in your life, regardless of its cost-price. I read it, too, often. It is the Word of Life to us, I believe, and I commend it to you. If you are unfamilar with it I would encourage you to begin with the Gospel of Mark. It is way up the far end of the book. I think you will like that very much. It is written in a way you will easily appreciate and identify with.
All the best to you, from me here in Oz.
